AAAAAAAAHHHH. I love Lyssa Kay Adams!! This series is perfection!! I think, in spite of how good the first two were, this is my absolute favorite. Writing this with the tears still flowing down my face. Noah and Alexis are my two favorite characters so far, and this storyline was heartfelt and wholesome.
In the wake of exposing the sexual harassment at her old workplace, Alexis’ cat café “ToeBeans” is thriving and becoming a safe space for those who have experienced the same things. She made a new friend in Noah during the experience too, and life is getting better. Until an estranged sister she didn’t know existed shows up to tell her father is dying and in need of a kidney.
Alexis has too big of a heart to say no, but Noah has always seen how much of she gives up of herself for others. All he can do is support her through this, and maybe she’ll see how much he adores her…
I love that this series breaks down what we love so much about this genre and absolutely turns it on its head with some gusto. This series takes those feelings, that love, and takes it that much farther. It’s a cut above. The tropes of romance mean more from Lyssa’s pen.
I was also lucky enough to listen to Lyssa Kay Adams’ interview with Elisabeth at Gibson’s Bookstore in Concord, NH. The Laydown Podcast is available where you find podcasts (lol) and it is an absolute delight to hear Lyssa explain all the amazing things about this series I can’t even begin to capture. I encourage you to listen and laugh with the two of them!
Highly, highly recommend. Thank you ever so much to the publisher for providing me with this lovely ARC in exchange for an honest review. 🙂
Not-so-patiently awaiting book four and the Russian’s romance story!!
